Wash Fish with salt , buttermilk and turmeric before starting to cook.
Cut two onions for three fish fillets
Grind onions , ginger and garlic to make a paste.
Heat oil in a pan and add cinnamon, cloves, jeera, mentulu (fenugreek seeds), after they start spluttering add chopped green chillies and onion paste.
Add turmeric, salt, chilli powder, coriander powder.
Fry it for sometime (till onions turn brown)
Add Fish pieces to the pan.
Add tamarind juice. Add little water if needed until Fish pieces are submerged.
add chopped coriander leaves. Cover and cook until done while turning fish pieces carefully upside down every few minutes. Serve with rice.
